Refund policy
Firstly, thank you for purchasing our garments, and thank you for supporting our humble Australian-made business. We hope you love all your garments as much as we loved designing them for you!
Do you offer returns?
Yes, for certain items, in certain circumstances. Please view all of these terms before attempting to request a return or refund to ensure that you qualify for one.
Exchanges or Returns are not accepted from overseas (i.e. outside Australia) except in the case that faulty goods or an incorrect order has been shipped.
Please choose carefully as we are not able to give a refund if you simply change your mind or make a wrong decision. We can offer an exchange if you have ordered the incorrect size, or if we have sent you incorrect items. Please refer to the terms specific to these, further below.
We offer returns with specific terms (listed in more detail below) for:
- Incorrect size - either you have ordered the incorrect size, or we send you the incorrect size to what you ordered
- If items arrive to you damaged, faulty, incorrect or wrongly displayed
We do not offer returns for:
- Change of mind on a purchase
- Making the wrong decision on a purchase
- Sale, discounted or promotional items
- Items purchased from an external retailer (either in-store or online)
- Items purchased from any market stalls
- The above are strictly not available for exchange or refunds under any circumstances.
Returns terms for incorrect fit:
Please avoid simply choosing sizes based on other similar garments you wear, as different brands and manufacturers often have different sizing measurements. This will help prevent needing to exchange items that are the incorrect size. If you find yourself having still ordered the incorrect size however, and you would like to swap the size of your item, we can help you out:
- We can provide an exchange for the correct size of the exact same item, but do not offer a refund for an incorrect fit
- If we are unable to locate another size for you of the exact same item, we will contact you via email to advise if there’s another product that may be substituted. We are unable to provide a refund. In this instance we can provide you with an online store credit valid for 3 months, less the initial purchase shipping fee
- You will need to cover the postage costs to return your item for an exchange
- Please monitor your return delivery as we are not responsible for monitoring the tracking, and we are not liable for any parcels that do not arrive or are damaged through the shipping process. We suggest you take out tracking and insurance
- Items paid for using a Buy Now Pay Later (BNPL) payment method cannot be exchanged
Returns terms for damaged, incorrect items or wrongly displayed items:
In the unlikely event that any of our products are faulty, have been wrongly described, are different to the product purchased on the website or doesn't do what it is supposed to do, returns will only be accepted when:
- They are returned within 7 days after receiving your order
- Items are in their original condition (unworn and unwashed)
- Items are in their original packaging
- Tags remain attached to garments
Failure as listed above may result in the return being rejected and returned to you without credit. You’ll receive an email throughout each stage of the returns process, so you know the exact status of your request.
If your item is deemed faulty, we will reimburse your delivery costs. However, we cannot reimburse you for an amount greater than your original delivery cost. Therefore, we encourage you to use the most economical delivery method for your return. If you are outside Australia and returning a faulty item, please contact us before posting the product back to us and wait for our confirmation about the return process.
The return and shipping process:
- If you wish to return or exchange any approved items, you have 7 days from the day you receive your parcel to return it to us
- To get started on your return contact us directly and immediately by emailing us at info@thegentlemanssurfclub.com
- Return shipping for a change of size that you have incorrectly ordered, even if by accident, is at your expense. Please monitor your return delivery as we are not responsible for monitoring the tracking, and we are not liable for any parcels that do not arrive or are damaged through the shipping process. We suggest you take out tracking and insurance.
- Return shipping for items we have sent you incorrectly or are damaged or faulty, is at our expense. For this process we will first post you a shipping satchel with our return details for you to post the incorrect item/s back to us. For overseas customers where we send you an incorrect item/size to you, please contact us before posting the product back to us, and wait for our confirmation about the return process
Condition of return items:
We ask you to return any garments in the condition they were sent to you:
- Unworn
- Unwashed
- No odours or marks
- Original tags attached
- In its original packaging
If an item does not satisfy the above requirements we will not provide you with any exchange or refund and you will have to pay for your items to be shipped back to you.
Once we receive your return:
- Returns are processed within 5 business days of your return being received and are made in the form of refund, exchange, or online credit depending on the case and as per terms stated above
- You will receive an email update from us as soon as the return process has been initiated
- Once we receive your return item/s, we will assess that it satisfies the requirement of it being in as-new condition
- We will then undertake the relevant return process depending on the outcome and what agreement we have with your returned item/s
- If you are receiving an online credit, this credit will be made available to you in the form of a e-gift card. Please note that store credit cannot be refunded at a later date nor can it be used in-store or at markets. Store credit has an expiry date of 3 months. Store credit will expire with no exceptions if not used within the given timeframe
Product availability:
- We try our best to make sure that our products listed on our website are currently in stock and pricing is true and correct
- Standard delivery timeframes are between 1-10 business days within Australia, International delivery timeframes differ for each Country
- In the event that an ordered item is not available or we are unable to fulfil your order we will notify you within 2 business days to arrange an agreeable alternative item, a backorder or store credit

Returns, store credits and exchanges are made at the sole discretion of The Gentleman’s Surf Club.
